Al Gore appeared on Oprah and spread his message about global warming. this is the best news I have seen on the environmental front in a long time. As one of the original environmentalists who fought tooth and nail against pollutors against great resistance and well funded pollution captain spin doctors it is gratifying to see the evolution of the movement into main stream society. I am quitting my painful costly personal environmental activities because of the momentum and energy that is now boiling out there and I am going to enjoy the rest of my life such as it is.

A typical response to kidnapping and terror has been to blow away the harboring neighborhoods and villages. I don't know how much this has helped, but it certainly gets their attention.
