From Mars to You, with Love

October 7, 2007 / by quarksandgenes

How awesome is this? A picture from Mars spread around a new reality called Cyberspace, by blog. When I arrived in Winnipeg by steam locomotive, as a young immigrant from Finland, Royal Dairies was delivering milk by horse drawn carriages and we had inkwells on our desks at school.

I am now able to send a picture beamed by electromagnetic waves, from Mars, taken by a remote controlled quasirobotic computerized geologist, photographer Rover, all around the world from my own computer. I can also cruise over Mars with Google Mars and check out the terrain from a space birds eye view. What a trip has my own short life been and how remarkable that we are now Aliens on two planets.

I am looking at that cliff thinking that would be fun to rappel and probably has a 5.8 crux on the ascent. Hmmm. Interesting. Sandblasted and clean rock. Slight overhead hazard. Cool climbing! Might be able to find a hotspring but doubt if there would be a bar to pop in for a cool one.

Could also miss the Okanagan beaches in summer, Ice Cream shops and bikini clad Cuty Pies roller blading by. Think I'll stick with the local Skaha bluffs. I am kinda used to big shade trees and birds singing and squirrella wars in the shed. You go. I'll stay here.
