Egypt, Us 41st Div, Old Finland, Coin

You may well be wondering what all these seemingly unrelated names have in common and how they are linked. A good luck symbol is how. They all bore the Swastika as a symbol of good luck prior to 1939. The USA 41st Division wore it as a shoulder flash during the first world war. It was an ancient good luck symbol in Finland from Pagan times. It was used in ancient Egypt and other places as well including China where it was called a San.

Hitler has kind of given this symbol a bad rap though and now its not politically correct to sport it but here is an image you will never forget. More than anything, the lesson of this symbol is that symbols don't work. They don't deliver on their promise and we would do well to never forget that.
