There is nothing in the new budget put forward by the Conservative government of PM Stephen Harper to address environmental concerns regarding hydrocarbon dependency and alternate energy despite these environmental issues being the top concern of Canadians.
There was greater dispensing of federal gas tax surpluses to the big cities however and I view it as a bribe to keep hydrocarbons current commodities for years to come. Passing the oil boob and entrenching dependency!
The budget and this government are a disgrace as are the Liberal Party supporters of the budget. The people's wishes amount to nothing. Booooo to Ottawa and Booooo to the Government of Canada for leading the planet down the road to destruction and for violating their democratic duty to represent us, the people.
Booo for failing to tool the auto dying auto industry to make affordable hybrid hydrogen fuel cell electric commuter cars and scooters.
Booo especially for making a Corporation out of the Social Security system that took us years to develop for the good of all and dumping the responsibility for the most important safeguard we have in hard times. Double Booo for passing the buck on this duty to serve and protect.
This budget feeds Energy Corporations pure fat and hurts nature and endangers the poor. It rewards the Forest Industry who has taken the best and left the rest for years and has our fattest cats. It degrades the very essence of what was best about our nation.
