Biofuels Bad; Princeton Study

February 8, 2008 / by quarksandgenes

As I said in an earlier blog, I thought biofuels were a terrible idea and now a study by a Princeton University researcher has verified this. See my article 'Biofuel Joke'.

It actually increases carbon to the atmosphere which is what I suspected would be found when a proper budget had been done.

The other main objection I have to it is that ethanol is a blend of petroleum based fuel with ethanol and so it locks ethanol which was touted as green with petroleum which is or was relatively not green. Using both creates a higher dependency on carboniferous fuels which we need to get away from completely.

We need to move to alternate clean energy sources like hydrogen generated by hydrolysis with solar cells or nuclear and or hydro electric primary power and drop carbon generators completely.
